Book Characters Everywhere!
World Book Day promotes the message Ormesby pupils love to read!
It was great to see the reading and therapy dog back in on Tuesday calming and supporting the children, whilst they read eagerly to Tilly. i have no doubt she loved it because she folds over and dozes off.
World Book Day took place on Thursday and it was great to see so many people dressing up in their costumes and donning their pyjamas. It is always important that our school promotes the love of reading, because this life skill is so vital to every area of the curriculum. Classes also linked to a national video to see different authors reading extracts from their stories and took part in some World Book Day activities, which they enjoyed. I particularly liked the Dragonflies preparing book reviews for the younger children. Very thoughtful!
Bringing over the Year 6 Headteachers for the Day always makes me feel proud, because the younger children love to interact with them and it is such a great aspirational tool for both sides. The older children get to see what working with young children is like and the younger children get to see what opportunities await them when they get older.
Next week, we have the Norfolk County Music Festival for those children participating in the choir. Following this, we have the Infant Curriculum Celebration event on Wednesday 13th where we invite parents in to go through the learning journeys with their children.
Have a great weekend everyone.
