Cross-Phase Computing

Technology brings together year groups together!

It has been another exciting week, where lots of new learning has taken place and I have enjoyed visiting all Infant classes. Reception were working on their five senses, whilst Year 1 were reading the Funnybones story writing their own captions for different characters. Year 2 were writing their own factual sentences about different animals and using Cooperative Learning to make the session more active.

As shown in the picture above, some of our Year 5 children visited to help our Reception children get used to the IPADs and complete some online games and activities. It was great to see the older children grasp the responsibility well when working with the younger ones, and it was rewarding to see the little ones look up aspirationally to the older children. Well done all round!

Today, the Reception class had their photograph taken for the Great Yarmouth Mercury newspaper and we managed to get everyone there, ready and smiling. They all looked smart in their uniform and I am very much looking forward to seeing them in the paper.

Make sure you sign up on our online booking Google form for a parent-teacher meeting, because working together with us for your child's education can only be productive and positive.

Next week, we see a parental workshop for our Reception parents on Little Wandle on Monday and then on Tuesday, our children can look forward to Mental Health Day. Our children have their Halloween disco to attend on Wednesday 12th October straight after school. 3:15-4:15pm for Years 1 & 2, with Reception going home and returning for 4:30-5:30pm with their parent. Sadly, we cannot accommodate other siblings at this event, so we ask politely that alternative arrangements are made for that solitary hour.  We also have our annual M&M Productions performance of the Jungle Book to enjoy on the same day.

Great efforts from everyone this week.

Have a fabulous weekend everyone.
