Nimble Fingers

Fine Motor Skills meets 2D shapes!

The children have been challenged to see which 2D shapes they can create using the wooden peg board with elastic bands. The children discovered shapes with curves were not achievable but shapes with straight lines were possible to make. These included triangles, squares and rectangles. The activity requires strong fingers to manipulate the elastic bands and fix them where they need to be. Additionally, the activity gave the children an opportunity to discover a range of sounds when different sized elastic bands were used - just like the strings of a guitar!
