Starting School!

The Ladybirds have had a busy week at school, making new friends and exploring the activities.  To begin our topic work, ‘All About Me’, we have been learning about the importance of understanding that everyone is different. We compared the colour of our eyes and hair, whether we are tall or short, and the colour of our skin.  Using a mirror, the children have been looking at their faces, before painting their self-portrait. After finishing their artwork, the children decided if the painting looked the same as them. During this half term, we will be thinking about other choices we make, that make everyone unique.

Other activities have included cutting and sticking, junk modelling, the trim trail and outdoor area. Using songs to support their understanding, the Ladybirds are doing extremely well at learning and remembering the routines at school.
