Planting Frenzy

Planting Day across the Federation aims to beautify the appearance of the school!

Welcome back to the final half-term of the academic year and I am pleased to say that the children seem in good spirits raring to learn even more.

It is that time of year again where children in Years 1 and 2 undertake their Phonics Screening Checks, not to mention their optional KS1 SATs. I am sure the children will all do their best to demonstrate how much they have learnt in Phonics this year, not to mention their Maths and Reading.

We held the first additional transition sessions for some of our Year 2 children with SEND by transferring them over to the Junior school ahead of the new academic year. The children had a good look round and spent some time in the NEST, which one of our Infants did not want to come out of. Finally they did, but positive signs that it was a successful trip.

Mr. O'Connor and I had to hold some interviews for a vacancy in our cleaning team. We are pleased that we have appointed a strong candidate and we are positive this will a good addition to our already fantastic staff group.

The week has ended with some lovely, fresh colours and gardening improvements, as we had our Federation Planting Day where children come in non-uniform in exchange for a bedding plant, which they can then pop into the ground themselves across the day.

Next week, we have our new Reception parents' open evening at 5:00pm on Wednesday 10th June. We look forward to seeing new parents then.

Have a relaxing weekend everyone!
