Open the Book Return

A Story of Creation!

Another week has flown by and on Wednesday the Open the Book Christian storytelling team returned to share and perform a story about Creation. It has been lovely to have the Caterpillar class in with us each day showing they have all settled in successfully. The Year 1 children chosen to support the story performance did exceptionally well and I hope lots of children continue to volunteer to be part of future stories with the Open the Book team.

Can I take this opportunity to remind Dragonflies' parents that I do not wish to see any of our pupils down the side of the school riding up and down on bikes and scooters mainly before school. Whilst it is nice to see them using different contraptions, safety must be prioritised. Firstly. deliveries to our kitchen could be arriving and the drivers would wish to park there. We also have a lot of sheds, bins and other disused items awaiting disposal, which are well out of the way of any visitors to the school for obvious safety reasons. Please ensure you keep your children close by and well supervised.

Sadly, our electric gates on the entrance to and exit from our school are proving too temperamental to continue getting them repaired only for them to go wrong again. As a result, we are going to be switching to manual pedestrian and car park gates, like we have at the Junior school, which will be less problematic. There will no longer be any intercom available. Can I remind all parents that the car park is for staff only (including taxis and/or delivery drivers), unless the school has been shown the blue badge of a registered disabled person. This agreement is for the use of this registered disabled person only.

Next week on Tuesday, we have our individual and siblings (in school) photographs with Kittle, so please ensure the children are looking smart and well groomed. The photos do make lovely Christmas gifts for family members. On Friday, we also have our Macmillan Cake sale to do our bit to raise funds for such a worthy cause. We also need your generous donations of cakes, biscuits and cookies to provide us with something to sell on the day. I have no doubt you will all contribute something fantastic. Whatever is provided, please ensure the items are nut-free and sealed.

Have a great weekend everyone!
