Busy, Busy and Busy Still!

Another busy week flies by!

It has been an extremely busy week, but nonetheless an enjoyable one. I am really enjoying our new "5Rs of Effective Learning" and seeing pupils being more aware of specific characteristics that we are looking for, not to mention, children displaying a stronger growth mindset. I have been very proud of them all this week. Next week, we will be looking at Resilience as our focus trait.

It was lovely to welcome Reverend Jo and the Open The Book team in together for an assembly story, showing all our pupils that both elements are from the same Church. Reverend Jo will be returning soon to lead future assemblies too. We hope we can sing, "My God is a great, big God," again, because the pupils love the actions.

I have big plans for our Federation of schools and over the course of this year, there will be some smaller premises developments taking place. All works are solely to enhance the provision on offer to the pupils beyond that which is available now, but patience is vital in the design and development stage. However, things are looking promising. My aim is to achieve something unique at this school; something which all of our Ormesby pupils will benefit from. I hope that a new pastoral/sensory room, will support all our pupils with any emotional needs and allow them to learn stronger self-management with the help of staff.

This week's attendance race was won by  the Dragonflies with 99%, with several other classes being very close to this winning score. Well done to this class and keep it up.

Next Wednesday, we are inviting some parents in to learn more about our school's reading approach following our Little Wandle Phonics scheme. On Friday, we have our Macmillan coffee and cake sale before school. We hope to see you all there raising money for such a worthy cause.

Overall, I am very much looking forward to visiting classes again and seeing all the learning taking place amongst all our wonderful children.

Have a great weekend everyone!
