Wonderful Poetry

National Poetry Day generates a lot of Wonder!
As each week goes by, I never think the following week can top how busy it is, but this week I have been proven wrong again because it has been rammed with differing elements.
It has been fantastic to be able to continue going into classes to observe how well the teaching staff are imparting knowledge to the children and seeing how engaged and enthusiastic our children are. Phonics has been a genuine highlight from my visits, seeing the consistent and powerful approach by the staff in achieving so much focus from their pupils. Sessions were creatively adapted to enable specific children to access the learning and where children had missed input or not quite understood, Keep Up and Catch Up sessions were implemented. Bravo everyone!
On Thursday, it was National Poetry Day and Bumblebees produced a lovely poem together including the theme of Wonder in their efforts. I have included the beginning of it above. Well done to them for their creation.
Next week, we have the Reception Height and Weight Checking Team visiting on Tuesday, whilst on Wednesday we have the travelling theatre company, M&M Productions, performing The Wizard of Oz for us. On Friday, we are commemorating World Mental Health Day, by wearing something yellow to accompany the school uniform (socks, hairband etc) and completing some work where the children can write positive messages to others.
Have a great weekend everyone!
