Sports' Day Drama!

Sports' Day almost hindered by poor weather at the eleventh hour!

Monday was our main annual transition day, where each class moves up a year; some Infants come over Juniors and we welcome our new Reception children in. It was a successful day and the majority of children enjoyed the experience getting to know their new adults and new classrooms.

On Wednesday, we had Sports' Day and on this occasion we decided as a staff to change things up a little in order to make things easier to organise and manage. Luckily, the rain moments before proceedings started did not dampen our spirits and eventually the sun came out to dry everything up. The parent and child pens worked marvellously and we even had time for a mothers' and fathers' race, which provided some additional entertainment for the children. A very close mishap was avoided by an athletic hurdle over the pre-school's picket fence. Thankfully, the mums were a little less competitive. A great event all being told and a format we will continue with moving forward. Well done everyone for making it a success.

End of Year reports should be coming home tonight as per my instructions, so do take some time to read them with the children. Hopefully, they highlight the strengths of the children, but also provide clear, next steps pointing out what your child needs to do next in order to be even better.

Next week, we have our Attendance Reward trip on Thursday for those invited to participate this year. We are off to see Toy Story 5, so that will be exciting. On Friday from 3:30pm, it is also the Federation's Summer Fayre, so please go over to the Junior site to enjoy the different stalls. I hope many of the children and our families will be entering the Bake-Off competitions. It is a really challenging task to taste all the entries, but someone has to do it.

Have a lovely weekend everyone!
