French Taster!

Year 2 French Taster adds an additional transition ahead of Junior school change!
My word, it has been an extremely hot week this week, but we have stayed open and kept the children cool with lots of shade, fluids and donated ice pops from the PTFA. Please also be mindful of our resident seagulls, who have just had young so are becoming more protective with random dive-bombing and messing on people.
The Year 2 children got to have an hour of French on Thursday morning at the Junior school to help get them used to having a completely new subject to learn. Thank you to Mrs. Denton for organising this with the Year 2 staff. Feedback was positive and the children returned reciting a few basic words in French, which was great to hear.
During our Friday assembly, we had the benefit of hearing a presentation from the Coastguard about beach safety. The children listened well and remembered the key message to call 999 and ask for the Coastguard if there was ever an emergency at the beach where they were needed. Thank you for all the freebies and stickers.
Next week, we have our Transition day on Monday 29th June. Please remember Year 2s need to go directly to Junior school. We also have our Infant Sports' afternoon on Wednesday 1st July beginning at 2:00pm. Parents should look to arrive at 1:45pm and queue from outside the main entrance gate near Reception. On Friday 3rd July, the end of school reports will be going out to parents.
Have a cool weekend everyone!
