Corridor Clean-Up!

Staff lead a massive purge on a plethora of resources!
The sun has remained out all week after our Bank Holiday and this has meant the children have been able to go out on to the field at break times to enjoy running around in our nature area every day. The bright weather has certainly lifted the mood of everyone and it has inadvertently spurred on staff to launch a deep cleanse on spaces around the school in order to declutter and remove items that have been kept far longer than they should have been. Mrs. Howell and Mrs. Bunker were certainly happy with some of the achievements made over the week, as you can see.
On Tuesday, the school photographer came in to take class photos of the children. Again, it is hoped there will be some purchases made, which will generate some commission for the school. I have no doubt the pictures will look great.
There has been a concerted push on writing recently, particularly building up the stamina for writing more at length. In Reception, children were enticed to write by having a jar of counters filled from their independent writing efforts earning them a made up story from Mr. Young using his sound shaker. The children say it has to involve Steve from Minecraft and the character must forget things. I will see what I can do.
Next week, we will be extending our best wishes to our Year 6 children who will be sitting their KS2 SATS at the Junior school, and it will be another week where staff will be helping Year 2 children prepare for their optional KS1 SATS as well as helping the Year 1 children prepare for their Phonics Screening Check.
Have a lovely weekend everyone.
