Bees and Honey

Bee Workshop for Reception

Thank you to Miss. McMylor who visited Reception to teach them all about bee-keeping, the equipment needed, the way to remove the wax cover on fresh honey and how to extract the honey from honeycomb. The honey did taste lovely. The Reception children have been learning about the importance of bees as well as many different facts about their habitats and lives. Great job everyone!

Year 1 are looking forward to their trip preparations to Hirsty's farm. They have kindly offered to provide transport to and from their venue with a tractor and trailer, so I am sure the children will enjoy that.

On Wednesday we welcomed the new Reception parents to an open evening. It was fabulous to see such a great turn out supporting the children with their transition. That positive relationship between school and home looks set to be embedded for the new cohort moving forward.

Next week, I am sure some of our Year 2 parents will be attending the Junior school for the open evening if their child is entering into our Year 3 class. This will be on Wednesday 18th June at 5:00pm.

Have a great weekend everyone!
